Schrader Art & Photography

Offers a Unique Blend of Traditional Artistry and Today's Technology

Diane Schrader, fine artist, technical illustrator, graphic artist and professional photographer, is one of the most prominent Senior Portrait, Family, Wedding and Commercial Photographers in this area. Her special style and artistic eye for composition produces stunning wall portraits and albums in full color, black & white, sepia and hand-tinted masterpieces.  Her skills with Photoshop are unparalleled and she shares her knowledge by holding classes in her studio, and performing these skills for other studios.

Her portrait studio has been located next to the scenic Cannon River in Dundas since 1996, and working out of her home graphic arts studio since 1976.  She has been a successful graphic artist for over 31 years, and a professional photographer for more than 23.  Her two businesses have blended together with the onset of the digital revolution.  Diane’s artwork is accomplished by hand with oils and dyes, and with state-of-the-art image editing software.

Diane has mastered digital artistry to fix any concern you may have regarding your portrait, such as perfecting complexions, softening lines and wrinkles on the neck, under and around eyes, straightening teeth, removing braces and stray hair. She can also correct eye glass glare by actually redrawing eyes.  Adding hair and eyelashes, and removing objects or people is among the magic that Diane can perform. Heads can be undetectably switched between photos.  With her artistic touch and undeniable perfectionism, every portrait is perfectly gorgeous.

Diane also creates classic oil painted portraits, and adds a flare of color to sepia and black & white portraits.  Special effects and blending several images into one composite to create a panoramic, turn each portrait into a unique and original piece of art.  Whether it's an 8 x 10 or a 6-foot wide wall portrait, they are treasured for years to come. The same principles are performed to restore precious damaged photos and paintings.

Selecting the perfect frame is essential. Diane advises her customers, and professionally mounts and assembles your portraits and art to proudly hang in your home or business, or to give as an exquisite gift.

Diane excels at photographing high school seniors, drawing clientele from about a 40 to 50 mile radius. She offers a free family or friends photo session with each high school senior at this special time of their lives.  Her wedding and event coverage and resulting beautiful images are in demand.  Her images are showcased in traditional albums or contemporary coffee table style books, along with music slideshows of your event.

Visitors are always welcome at Schrader Art & Photography's gallery and studio. Diane is frequently on location, or at her graphic arts studio, so it is best to call for an appointment: 507-403-9139.
